LEIPZIG, Germany, Sept 14 (Askume) – Red Bull Leipzig played a goalless draw with visiting Union Berlin on Saturday but missed a penalty kick in the second half.
Leipzig open the Champions League season against Atletico Madrid next week and sit second with seven points from three league games.
Harvey Simmons’ shot in the 68th minute missed the crossbar, but Louis Openda’s weak penalty in the 74th minute was saved by Union goalkeeper Frederic Rono and the home side missed their best chance.
After three matches, the league is unbeaten and is placed eighth with 5 points.
