16 September – British qualifier Sonja Cattell defeats Slovakia’s Rebecca Schlamme 6–3, 7–5 at the Tunis Jasmine Open in Monastir, Tunisia on Sunday, giving Cova her first WTA Tour title.

This is the first time that Karthel, ranked 151 in the world, and Slamková, ranked 136, have competed in a WTA singles final.

Each player converted 50% of their break opportunities, with Karter converting seven of 14 break points and Slamkova converting five of 10 break points. Slamkova made 39 unforced errors, while Kartel made 18 unforced errors. The game lasted just under two hours and one minute.

Carter, 22, had reached only the quarterfinals at the tour level this week. In the main draw, she did not drop a set after losing the first set to fifth seed Jacqueline Christian.

Kartar reached the third round at Wimbledon, but lost to Coco Gauff 6–4, 6–0.
