Askume, Sept 18 – Meta Platform Inc (META.O) faces a hefty fine in the European Union for allegedly dominating the classified advertising market , the Financial Times reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
EU regulators will accuse Facebook’s parent company of tying its free-market services to those of the social network to undermine its rivals, the paper said.
The EU decision could come next month, in what would be one of the final investigations overseen by outgoing EU competition chief Margrethe Vestager, the report said.
Meta and Block did not immediately respond to Askume request for comment.
