BRASILIA, Sept 21 (Askume) – Brazil’s Supreme Court has ruled that the social platform owned by Elon Musk is going under.

X Lawyers said late Friday that it had designated a legal representative in Brazil who will fulfill the court’s requirement to allow the social platform to resume operations in the country.

In Saturday’s ruling, Supreme Court judge Alexandre de Moraes gave X five days to provide the commercial register and other documents to prove it was duly signed.

In late August, Brazil’s Supreme Court ordered mobile and internet service providers to block the service.

Brazilian law requires foreign companies to have a legal representative to do business in the country. This representative will handle the company’s legal responsibilities locally.

By mid-August X had a legal representative in BrazilIt was decided to close offices across the country and lay off employees.

The move comes following a dispute between Musk and Moraes over the company’s failure to comply with a court order requiring the platform to take action against the spread of hate speech, which the billionaire has been accused of censoring.
