As I walked down Bleecker Street to the Ganesha Village store with a latte in hand, one thing became clear. Autumn is coming. The leaves are slowly turning brown as they fall on the sidewalk, my coffee is hot instead of iced, and I’m in need of a seasonal wardrobe update. As I walked into the store with the brand’s Copenhagen pastels, I found myself drawn to some transitional pieces with a twist. I’m especially excited to check out the new ballet flats and modern suits I’ve seen online.

Although I usually stay away from prints and take a more minimal approach, I can’t resist trying out a few animal print pieces that are currently trending. During my morning visit, I found the perfect black top with rolled-up sleeves — the kind of structured silhouette I’m drawn to — as well as a versatile midi blazer, a seamless fleece jacket, and a really fun sweater.

Here are some of the key items I tried at Ganni, as well as a few other things worth adding to your cart.

Soft edges, clean lines

In my opinion, you can never have too many zip-up tops – especially when it has such a flowy silhouette. This is my favorite piece in the whole store, soft crepe fabric, cinched waist, high collar, can be worn up or down. I paired it with a pleated midi skirt that looked like dress pants. A versatile sundress and skirt. A small crocodile bag adds another unique feel.

Walking Wild

It’s no surprise that animal prints have become a popular trend after appearing multiple times on the Fall/Winter 2024 runways. Designers from Alaïa and Alexander McQueen to Batsheva and Christian Dior introduced leopard, leopard, and snakeskin prints. I’ve seen Ganni fans love this leopard canvas jacket, which is lightweight enough to wear as a button-down shirt with jeans and pants.

Get ready, but it’s already late

Almost every brand has its own version of the suit, but this version is modeled after Ganni’s tried and true quirky style. This light gray blazer has a glossy finish and features a single raw silver-tone buckle. The pants look different – another hybrid – with a removable matching skin layer on top. I paired it with the brand’s new Eyelet Bow Ballet Flats.

what’s old is new again

I’m very interested in fall and winter fashion, especially outerwear options. The August heat was getting to me and I had to stop layering to survive. This herringbone coat reminds me of a beloved vintage piece I’ve owned for years but still miss. This would be a great replacement. It has a hood and classic toggle closure, reminiscent of Prada and The Row. I’d pair it with the brand’s gray suit pants or the same pinstripe skirt, and when the weather gets cooler, I’d pair it with knee-high boots.

Sweater Weather

While I usually collect plain knits (like cream crewnecks and simple turtlenecks), I can’t help but love Ganni’s range of warm sweaters. Other knits are just as fun, including bright off-the-shoulder sequins, chunky knits, and polo shirts! This graphic tiger embellished sweater is perfect, offering a bold yet simple option. I also love the sustainable message printed on the front – have a nice day! Please recycle!
