As Fashion Week progresses from city to city, the outfits of the participants change dramatically. The crowds in Milan were inspired by the dresses and knitwear of Mrs Prada, who is undoubtedly a local legend. Nonetheless, attendees at the Paris fashion show seemed influenced by the evolution of French fashion with a modern twist. On the streets of the French capital, spectators reference 16th and 17th century clothing through small details such as shapes, prints or accessories and mix them with current styles.

Elements like Loewe’s pussybow denim shirt or Favorite Daughter’s houndstooth coat seem taken from the past and totally relevant for today. Even something as simple as a pair of brown leather gloves can give a basic piece a whole new look. Come to the blues band (and the red band!)
A flowing red skirt takes on new life when paired with contrasting pieces like tailored menswear and black shoes.
touch
Simple pieces like smooth leather gloves and a red knit scarf add something different to the classic look of jeans and a bomber jacket.
Haberdashery prints
The key to mixing prints in this old-fashioned menswear-inspired look is to combine boldness with subtlety. Here, graphic houndstooth takes center stage, while soft plaid plays a supporting role.
put a bow on it
Look fresh with this feminine bow blouse in Loewe denim. Pair with a black pencil skirt, heels and a polished shoulder bag to bring a distinctly girly feel to this look.
Macaron Shades
The look here is a mix of light, airy separates under a heavier plaid coat. A bandana and an unexpected houndstooth bag are enough to tie the whole thing together.
Woman in the modern manor
When paired with another bow shirt, the sleek black leather piece leaves punk and enters Parisian territory.
Double when printing
Show off mixed prints (here, an abstract skirt and a leopard print scarf) with a boyish blazer and plush court shoes.
