The Frankie Shop is a very famous store located at 100 Stanton Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. I remember when it first opened, the store was so small that employees had to walk down stairs to the basement to get to the storage room. The fact that Gaël Drivet was able to grow it into this large renovated space is incredible – now shopping here is an amazing experience.
I stopped by in search of some clothes that would be perfect for fashion month and fall. I immediately loved how everything was sold by color. You can immediately see how these outfits look together. There’s no internal debate about how to style X with Y. It’s a very simple shopping experience, which I appreciate.
I have so many favorites about this brand, especially the outerwear and tailoring, but funny thing is, I’ve never been a fan of tailoring – something I noticed this time around. In addition to the different fabrics, I love all the transparent fabrics used for layering. Here are some of the key items I tried at the Frankie shop, how I styled them, and some final touches that completed the look.
pure happiness
I’m the kind of person who buys multiple times before finding the right style. The sheer aprons are a great example. I already had the white and black ones and then I tried the burgundy one and I loved it. Styling is tricky, though. There was definitely an element of “what underwear do I wear”, so I played with layers: I paired it with a slightly sheer trench coat and a white t-shirt. I also tried it with a very long blazer.

burgundy is the new black
I usually wear a lot of black, but I don’t necessarily want to go there when I come back after summer, which is nice. I love neutral fall colors that don’t feel heavy, and burgundy is one of them. There are so many great burgundy pieces in Frankie’s store right now. I wanted to try the tonal look of the Perrie skirt, so I paired it with a matching crackled top that was a little longer and had the perfect amount of coverage.

Easy Weekend Dressing
I love anything oversized. This tank top would be the hardest item in my wardrobe to find. I can only say that because it’s easy. I love wide leg jeans. The proportions are loose and effortless, like it doesn’t need to be an effort.

Light stitching
All of the lightweight cuts from Frankie Shop are perfect for transitional dressing. I’m not really a dressy girl, but that’s what coordination achieves. It’s a complete look—again. You don’t have to get up in the morning and think about it. I can easily wear these pants with just a T-shirt—they look equally good with or without a blazer at the office. When it’s cold I throw on a sweater around the neck and a jacket over it. I love the versatility of these pieces to adapt to different climates and scenarios. I rarely create complete looks beyond tailoring—and even then, I wear most of my blazers with jeans—but it’s not easy to do.
I’ve never avoided a head-to-toe gray look, so I love this color – it’s a chalky greenish-gray. I wanted to bring in a fun color in my shoes so I chose red sandals. This is definitely a Fashion Week look. Wearing an easy-to-layer sweater instead of a tank top will help in the fall.
