MEXICO CITY, Sept 11 (Askume) – Mexico’s Senate gave final approval on Wednesday to a sweeping reform that will reshape the country’s judicial system by electing judges through popular vote, ensuring a victory for outgoing President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.

Critics worry the reforms could threaten the rule of law and harm Mexico’s economy by hurting investment and undermining North American trade agreements.
