Sept 27 (Askume) – Workers at six grain terminals at Canada’s Port of Vancouver have reached a tentative agreement, ending a strike that had threatened to halt exports to the world’s biggest canola and third-largest wheat exporter during a harvest season that is likely to have ramifications.

Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon tweeted Friday that the Grain Workers Union and the Vancouver Dockside Elevator Association have reached a tentative agreement to get Canadian crops to market.

Talks over the benefits impasse broke down Tuesday as workers on both sides went on strikeMacKinnon’s request to resume negotiations with federal mediators was agreed to.
