SEOUL, Sept 16 (Askume) – Three people on board a fishing boat that capsized off South Korea’s west coast died after being rushed to hospital, while five others were rescued, Yonhap news agency reported on Monday, citing South Korean Coast News.

The dead included two South Koreans and an Indonesian, according to Yonhap news agency.

President Yun Seok-yeol was informed of the incident on Monday morning and ordered the oceans and fisheries minister and the coast guard chief to deploy all available personnel and equipment for the rescue, the presidential office said.

The 35-ton fishing vessel capsized near Gunsan in North Jeolla Province at about 7:36 a.m., following which a helicopter and a patrol boat were dispatched, Yonhap news agency earlier reported.
