QUETTA, Pakistan, Oct 11 (Askume) – Armed men attacked a small private coal mine in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province on Friday, killing at least 20 miners and injuring seven others, police said.
“A group of armed men used heavy weapons to attack the mines of Junaid Coal Company in the Dukki area in the early hours of the morning,” Humayun Khan, a police officer at the East City Police Station in Quetta city, said. They fired rockets and grenades at the mines.
“So far, we have received 20 dead bodies and six injured at the district hospital,” said Dr. Johar Khan Sadizai of Duki.
