SYDNEY, Sept 19 (Askume) – Australian Trade Minister Don Farrell said on Thursday he expected China to remove trade barriers on Australian lobster imports before Christmas.
China has lifted almost all trade restrictions imposed on Australia amid a thaw in relations after Canberra called for an inquiry into the origins of Covid-19, but barriers to lobster imports remain.
“I believe, based on all the discussions we’ve had so far… I still believe that will happen,” Farrell told Sky News, adding that he hoped restrictions would be lifted before Christmas.
