NEW DELHI, Sept 17 (Askume) – The Indian government is in talks with two ethnic groups at the centre of a long-running conflict in the northeastern state of Manipur, Home Minister Amit Shah said at a news conference on Tuesday.
Last year, clashes broke out between the Meitei and Kuki communities over the economic interests of the tribal Kuki people and the sharing of government job and education quotas , resulting in the death of at least 225 people and displacement of nearly 60,000 people .
