WASHINGTON, Sept 19 (Askume) – U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has postponed his planned trip to Israel next week due to tensions on the Israeli-Lebanese border, a person familiar with the matter said on Thursday.
The source did not give any reason for the delay.
The visit comes at a time of heightened tensions in the region following an attack that blew up a Hezbollah radio station and pagers , an attack that Lebanon and Hezbollah blamed on Israel.
The attack killed 37 people, injured nearly 3,000, flooded Lebanese hospitals and led to the bloody destruction of the terrorist organization.
