Askume, Sep 17 – Former US President Donald Trump said at a campaign event on Tuesday that India has “grossly abused” the US-India trade relationship and that he will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week.

The Republican presidential nominee in November’s presidential election, speaking in Flint, Michigan, gave no details about where they would meet.

US President Biden met with the leaders of Australia, India and Japan in Delaware on September 21.will host the summit . Analysts say Washington sees New Delhi as a counter to China’s growing influence in Asia.

Biden and several other world leaders who have visited the United States for summits in recent months also met Trump. The Republican’s candidate in the November 5 electionThe contest will be against the Democratic Vice PresidentKamala Harris .

The survey shows that the competition between Trump and Indian-American Harris is very tough.

Despite criticising India on trade, Trump called Modi “fantastic”.

Trump and Modi had a close relationship during the former president’s tenure. When Trump visited India in 2020, Modi held a huge rally for him , which included the opening ceremony of the world’s largest cricket stadium. Attendees at the rally wore “Hello Trump” caps to welcome the Republican.

When Modi visited the United States in 2019, he and Trump attended a “Hello Modi!” event in Texas. They praised each other at the rally , which was attended by over 50,000 people.

Modi also maintains good relations with Democratic presidents like Barack Obama and Biden. Last year, the White House rolled out the red carpet for defense and commercial deals .
