HANOI, Sept 19 (Askume) – Vietnamese President To Lam and the chairman of the ruling Communist Party will visit the United States next week to attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York, the government said on Thursday.
Next, Lam will make an official visit to Cuba, Vietnam’s long-time communist partner.
A Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Lam’s visit would be held from Sept. 21 to Sept. 27, but did not give a specific timetable for Lam’s visits to various countries.
During her visit to the United States, Lam will speak at a United Nations event and meet representatives of several US companies, including Alphabet’s Google and Facebook owner Meta, Askume reported on Tuesday.
Neither a Foreign Ministry spokesperson nor a separate government statement said whether Lam would meet US President Joe Biden during her visit to the United States.
